June is Bully Koopa Month!

June is Bully Koopa Month, in honour of (the majority of) Roy's contributions to avenging Dennis Hopper!


After we lost Dennis on an airing day in 2010, I felt the need for a fresh new airing, to clear the lungs and, yes, avenge him - but with such a delicate need, the pre-airing gaming achievement tradition came to mind, so I felt 'twould be a sweet, fitting tribute to Dennis were I to act upon that.

I alerted my friends in town of the situation - they were very sympathetic, and were more than happy to make the needed generous donations. Roy even placed in my care THREE shirts designed like Guile's tank top (complete with the American flag tattoos, on the sleeves!), so naturally one of these would be the Shirt of Chivalry when the time came.


The majority of these generous donations were made in June that year, and as it turns out Roy is himself a June baby (in the years since, his birthday has twice been an airing day!) - so naturally, June would be dedicated to that. At first, it was simply Roy Koopa Month - but after Lemmy was briefly forced to take on the 'Hip Koopa' moniker, long story short 'twere all because of the evil deeds of my enemies, the name was changed to Bully Koopa Month.

Again, yes I've seen the old cartoons - it was actually through these, how I first heard of many of the classic games we love. I remember thinking like, "
Good god, that's Kookie!"
, "
So which one's Roy? ...OMG, that's Bully!"
et al, when I played Super Mario World.

But we can also use the month as an anti-bullying month. Stand up against such hate crime as the r-word - even Donut Lord has called me some hate crime names in his time, so feel free to write his name on a piece of paper, and throw darts at it!

I am of course debating on getting another special edition of Kylie's 'Disco' album, after seeing it in exclusive book form at a music store last week - I didn't get it, though, as I had already bought those two games, and of course I opted to top up on my grocery shopping that week. But maybe in the future to come, whether or not when the time comes to get revenge...

And in case anyone asks me about the Street Fighter 6 trailer, yes I have seen it - and yes, I love Chun Li's dress in it! I know Lemmy may have a few choice words, too


That new kid Jamie is cute, I would certainly consider the name 'Jamie' for any of my future cats.

oh, and the Shirt of Chivalry is confirmed for next time! The Lego shop sold me a shirt, featuring that other Street Fighter movie poster (the one with Van Damme and Raul facing each other). Let's hope I can soon wear it!


And there is also good news, for those of you who enjoyed the Chip 'N' Dale Rescue Rangers movie! I picked up the old NES game -which itself, can be seen in the movie- today as well, again this was actually my second Capcom game (the first was Duck Tales) which makes it extra special. It was obviously meant to be, that I would buy the game since the movie was released.

Yes, I will see about completing it when the time comes - but no, it will not be the first achievement. Though yes, feel free to twist my arm to complete it as soon as I can.


Speaking of pre-airing gaming achievements, yes we have another candidate to be the first on the way! I have EBayed for Resident Evil Director's Cut, yes when it arrives I will certainly prioritise preparing it for airing celebration. I will keep Jill's default costume in this game, I know you can get her STARS uniform (which Cammy wears, for her Jill costume) but she wears a white top for her default costume. She's definitely dressed for airings! LOL

I have also EBayed for the GameCube version of Viewtiful Joe, because, well, why not? That would be good news for the Rashid players here, yes on account of Rashid's Viewtiful Joe costume.
